Tatanka is the latest superstar to be removed from WWE shedules. He is expected to be off World Wrestling Entertainment activity for the next 30 days. The reason given due to him being taken off the road is due to personal reasons that are unkown at this time.

The only way Tatanka's de-activation hurts any is because he's another person on the Smackdown roster that is out. Other than that, I don't believe that his de-activation will hurt the current storylines going on.

Tatanka was hired after signing one of the WWE's infamous legends contracts... much like Bobby Heenan, Jimmy Hart, Road Warrior Animal, Vader and so many others.
As part of the signing they brought him back to TV. Unlike the others, Tatanka appeared to be in decent shape and they figured that he could be a positive influence on a very green dressing room.

Or possibly because he's a full fledged indian now. Could that not possibly help with that demographic?
I always like Tatanka, I thought he was the greatest when I was a kid, but then again, I also like Aerosmith.

Chris Chavis will never have the level of success he had when he was teaming with Bam Bam Bigelow.

I still remember the Bob "Spark Plug" Holly/1-2-3 Kid vs Tatanka/Bigelow match.

Im going to miss Tatanka -- again. Sure it's pretty easy to make fun of the guy, but he was in good shape, still worked hard, and added a little depth and experience to the greenest professional wrestling show on television today. But all they used him for was to put over the flavor of the month. I wish they could have at least shown him once-in-a-while. He could have fought against Paul Birchill (who's probably also on his way out) and made me immensely happy.

Another greatly under-used talent...Paul Burchill. He could benefit so much by competing on the Indy circuit.

I heard Vince was worried that they may have been sued by Disney because of his apparent likeness to Captain Jack Sparrow.

If I remember correctly, he joined Benoit as a member of "Smackdown stars that need time off to heal injuries so Creative will have Mark Henry make it look like he put you on the shelf".
As for the pirate gimmick...I have no idea. It was gay and crappy to begin with.
